Q. What do the Regional Offices do?
A.

The Regional Managers are the the primary regional contact for improved access to provincial government services, resources, and program funding information designed to assist communities and regions achieve their economic and community development goals. 

We link local government staff and economic development professionals to provincial programs and initiatives such as WorkBC, Asia-Pacific, regional trusts, Towns for Tomorrow, Trees for Tomorrow, the Community Development Trust, municipal infrastructure grant programs, Mountain Pine Beetle mitigation, and the 2010 Winter Games.  We also help identify and implement opportunities for business development, business retention, investment and economic development. 

Q. How do I find information about funding for my community project?
A. Try searching the CivicInfo BC Grant Database or Funding Sources For British Columbia Communities, or contact one of our regional staff for assistance. 
   
Q. What do we do if our community doesn’t have an economic development function?
A. Contact one of our staff. They can assist you to build capacity in your community or will help to find suitable resources for your community.
   
Q. I own a business and am having trouble finding workers is there anything you can do to help?
A. Please contact our closest regional office. Our staff will provide you with information about local skills & labour initiatives, and can assist you to access programs such as the Provincial Nominee Program, Temporary Foreign Worker Program, and the Job Opportunities Program.
