Re: Statutory Deadlines for Municipal Submissions to the Ministry
 

What’s New:

• In order to simplify the statutory submissions process, the Ministry of Community Development (Ministry) has prepared an on-line version of Local Government Data Entry (LGDE) for collection of financial information for 2008 and future fiscal years.
• In addition to now being on-line, the new version of LGDE has been updated to incorporate the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) changes to the reporting format and tangible capital assets effective in 2009.
• his new program will now be housed in one central place known as the Local Government Information System (LGIS)

In preparation for the upcoming busy season and to assist you in clarifying the elements and timelines of the statutory requirements, we have prepared the attached checklist. Please post the list and share it with others in your regional district that may be responsible for different aspects of the statutory requirements.
 

In addition, we have prepared the attached summary of how to perform specific tasks within the new LGIS System including: gaining access, entering and saving data, running balance checks, printing your submissions and submitting online.
