Local Government - First Nation Relations Branch

The Local Government - First Nations Relations Branch facilitates the development of productive relationships between local government and First Nations throughout British Columbia.
 

Key activities of the Local Government-First Nations Relations Branch include:

• Supporting the Community to Community (C2C) Forum program designed to bring elected officials from local government and First Nations together to develop working relationships.
   
• Encouraging the development of formal and informal agreements between local governments and First Nations on common issues and activities.
   
• Assisting provincial and local representatives in the BC Treaty Process.
   
• Partnering with the Union of BC Municipalities First Nations Relations Office on key initiatives.
