Transitional Assistance Program
The program’s final application
period ended on August 31, 2009.
Applications are no longer being accepted.
Options for older forest workers
One of three Community Development Trust programs,
the Transitional Assistance Program provides new options
to workers over the age of 60 who are interested in
leaving their forest sector jobs.
Funding available
The Transitional Assistance Program provides
successful applicants with up to $35,000, calculated
based on a worker’s age and how long they have been
continuously employed in B.C.’s forest sector. More
information is available on our
Funding Available
page.
Employment Insurance
If you have applied to the Transitional Assistance
Program and are currently receiving Employment Insurance
(EI) benefits, it is important for you to be clear on
how the program may affect your EI status. See our Employment Insurance page
for more information.
Funding priorities
The program was designed to provide the greatest
possible benefit to as many workers as possible, while
making sure British Columbia’s forest sector is well
positioned for future success. For more information, see
our Funding priorities page.
Once you are approved
If your Transitional Assistance Program application
is successful, there are several steps you will then
need to take. See our Once you are approved page for
